Pro Tools 6.1 for TDM and LE Systems

Digidesign has announced the availability of Pro Tools 6.1 software. Now, Windows XP users can enjoy the powerful new TDM and LE features added on Mac OS X with Pro Tools 6.0, while both platforms take advantage of a host of new features as well.
Pro Tools 6.0 Features Added to Windows XP
Along with a streamlined new look for the Mix, Edit, and Transport windows, Pro Tools 6.1 software brings to XP the powerful DigiBase file management utility, enhanced MIDI functionality (including high-resolution groove templates!), additional Beat Detective features, new Import Session options, plug-in functionality enhancements, MachineControl option additions, a host of new enhancements to Pro Tools LE, and much more.
New Interoperability with Avid Systems
Pro Tools 6.1 adds AVoption|XL support for record and playback of all Avid JFIF video resolutions from 35:1 all the way up to 1:1 uncompressed on Windows XP- and Mac OS X-based Pro Tools|HD systems and Mac OS X-based Pro Tools|24 MIX systems. Exchanging video projects with Avid workstations is easier than ever with Advanced Authoring Format (AAF), the new industry-standard for media sequence import/export.
AAF Interchange Support and OMF Video Metadata Display
With the DigiTranslator 2.0 option, the Pro Tools 6.1 software provides support for AAF. Expanding on the capabilities of OMF Interchange, AAF utilizes a new architecture to provide seamless interchange of rich media between a host of AAF-capable applications, including Avid's newest systems. In addition, OMF video metadata is now displayed within the DigiBase browsers.
DV Toolkit Option for Pro Tools LE
The new DV Toolkit for Pro Tools is an optional cross-platform bundle that adds desktop post production functionality to your Pro Tools LE system. DV Toolkit option includes time code features for Pro Tools LE, DigiTranslator 2.0 option for full AAF/OMF import/export, Digidesign's AudioSuite DINR noise reduction plug-in, and Synchro Arts VocALign Project for dialog replacement. The introductory price for DV Toolkit is $795 US (regular price: $995 US MSRP).
ReWire Support
Pro Tools 6.1 software introduces support for Propellerhead Software's ReWire technology. Interfacing via an RTAS plug-in for both TDM- and LE-based Pro Tools systems, ReWire provides real-time audio and MIDI streaming between applications supporting ReWire, with sample accurate synchronization and common transport functionality. ReWire allows 16- and 24-bit audio signals from your favorite compatible software synthesizers, samplers, and other host-based instruments to be directly routed into Pro Tools for further mixing and processing.

Requirements are very similar to those for Pro Tools 6.0.1 Mac and Pro Tools 5.3.3 (Windows), though additional RAM and increased hardware buffer size settings may be required.
