RainSong Introduces Projection Series
Guitars
January 6, 2002
RainSong Graphite Guitars introduced a new line of instruments, the Projection Series, designed to deliver RainSong's signature loud, balanced and crystalline Carbon tone and Graphite's strength and stability in a more economical package.
The Projection Series features all-graphite soundboards meticulously handcrafted using RainSong's patented Projection Tuned Layering process. Constructed entirely without restrictive braces, the all-graphite soundboards vibrate freely to provide greater acoustic volume and clean, detailed tone.
The Projection Series represents a pioneering achievement in combining cutting-edge graphite technology with traditional mahogany construction. The journey, that begins with the all-graphite soundboards made in Woodinville, Washington, continues to South Korea, where craftsmen use the finest mahogany to complete the laminate back and sides and the neck. Then back to Woodinville, where RainSong's luthiers add the final set-up touches.
The Projection Series is designed for the working, traveling musician. The all-graphite soundboard will not belly, sink or crack with changes in the environment. The laminate mahogany body construction and the urethane finish on the outside and the inside, resist changes in humidity and reinforce the inherent stability and strength of graphite.
The Projection Series is being introduced in 3 body shapes, each available with and without electronics -- P-GA1000 is a deep-body cutaway 6-string, P-MJ1000 is a slim-body cutaway 6-string and the P-DR1000 is a dreadnought non-cutaway 6-string.
The Projection Series models come standard with accessories such as abalone rosette, pearl inlays, Grover tuners, bone nut and saddle, Tusq string pins, Elixir strings, Fishman Prefix electronics and a hard-shell case. Suggested retail prices range from $999 to $1,332.
