December 10, 2003Reverend has introduced the USA made Wolfman guitar featuring two RevTron humbuckers. These clean sounding
humbuckers are designed for thick twang and upper-mid growl reminiscent of
1950's rockabilly era guitars. However, RevTrons are wound about 5% hotter
than the originals for more versatility.
Other features include: patented chambered body, 25.5" scale satin finish
maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, string-thru-body bridge,
bi-directional truss rod and graphite nut.
Options include: Bigsby or Hipshot tremolos, maple fingerboard, Graph Tech
saddles and various solid color, brushed aluminum or faux wood finishes.
"The RevTron pickup is based on the late fifties FilterTron pickup which is
a cornerstone of the classic rockabilly sound. We then slightly overwound
the coils for more versatility without losing the character of the original
design. With our 25.5" scale and chambered body, you end up with a guitar
that sounds like a cross between a Gretsch 6120 hollowbody and a Telecaster.
It's suitable for rockabilly as well as other styles such as rock and
blues.", states Reverend founder Joe Naylor.
The Wolfman starts at $539
