Acon Digital Media released a new version of the audio editor Acoustica, version 3.1. Most of the improvements in
version 3.1 are aimed toward using Acoustica to transfer LP records or tape
recordings to Audio CDs.
Acoustica now includes a freely adjustable vertical zoom which simplifies
the manual search for clicks and pops. Optionally, Acoustica stops recording
when the audio input is silent or after a user definable amount of time.
Further improvements were made in the declicker quality.
The editing capabilities are also improved. A new audio scrubbing mode makes
it easy to find a specific position in the recording by ear. Furthermore,
DirectX plug-ins are now hosted in a separate process during scanning, which
ensures stable operation even with possibly defective third party plug-ins.
New Features
The complete list of new features in version 3.1 is:
- Freely adjustable vertical zoom
- Audio scrubbing
- Record automation including auto-stop and punch out
- Optional automatic removal of DC offset error during recording
- Improved declicker quality
- User presets for frequently used recording formats
- Numerical entry of the selected region
- The integrated CD burner now supports additional buffer protection technologies and simplifies burning of multiple copies
