New Retrofit Stoptail Bridge for Vintage Tremolo Strats November 22, 2004 Custom Shop Parts is now offering a way to remove that 6 screw vintage tremolo from a Strat and cover the screw holes and tremolo route with the Convertible. This is a custom bridge developed as a direct replacement for the common vintage tremolo found on Fender Stratocaster's and other similar instruments. Advertisement Many Strat users have developed innovative ways to secure or block their vintage tremolo. The goal is to have the performance of a hard tail bridge on a Stratocaster. This specially designed fixed bridge hides all of the unsightly screw holes and lines left by the disregarded vintage tremolo. The Convertible is also designed to improve overall tone and sustain by increasing bridge mass and bridge-to-top contact. Each Convertible is made from chrome plated solid brass and created in a custom shape for a visible impact. The first version (shown) features a hot rod flame design.
