Submersible Music has released DrumCore, the company's software for creating
drum tracks. DrumCore is targeted at producers, composers, and musicians who
need drum parts in a multitude of styles. It consists of two (2) DVDs
containing the DrumCore application and content (audio and MIDI) by renowned
drummers. These include Alan White (John Lennon, Yes), Matt Sorum (Guns N'
Roses, Velvet Revolver), Sly Dunbar (Bob Marley), Zoro (Lenny Kravitz), Jeff
Anthony (Sheryl Crow), John Bishop (Ernie Watts), Ben Smith (Heart), Tony
Braunagel (Bonnie Raitt), Ned Douglas (Dave Stewart), DJ Syze-up (Ultra
Nate), and Michael Shrieve (Santana).
DrumCore provides a search engine for
easily finding content; a MIDI drum module for playing the drummers' sounds
via MIDI; ReWire and Core Audio support; and a way to easily export content
to popular applications including ProTools, Logic, Digital Performer and
Cubase/Nuendo.
DrumeCore features:
Search Engine -- The DrumCore search engine provides quick access to thousands of grooves,
fills, variations and individual drum sounds. Search content based on
drummer, style (rock, funk, country, and others), feel (straight, shuffle,
etc.), time signature and tempo. Users can change criteria (create a new
"style" for example) and enter their own comments for searching. Users can
even use DrumCore for organizing their own loops and audio files.
Pristine Content -- Both digital audio (48kHz/24-bit) and MIDI grooves are included. Audio
content was recorded at 5-10 BPM tempo increments, since drummers play
differently at different tempos. This results in more musical grooves and
keeps audio quality from being compromised by extreme time-stretching or
beat-slicing. All content was recorded in professionally designed studios
using state-of-the-art digital (ProTools HD3) and analog (SSL 9000, Neve,
etc.) gear.
The "Gabrielizer" -- For creating variations on audio and MIDI loops, DrumCore's "Gabrielizer"
technology intelligently generates new rhythms by changing a selected file
based on their beat generation algorithms. Then the new file can be saved back
into the DrumCore library and/or exported to your digital audio workstation
(DAW).
MIDI Drum Module -- DrumCore's MIDI drum module comes loaded with each drummer's drumkit. It
can be used to play the included MIDI grooves or for creating your own beats
using a MIDI sequencer/DAW. Use a controller to select DrumCore as a MIDI
device and the play the drumkits in real time.
DAW Integration -- Project/session integration and numerous export options make it easy to get
drum parts into other popular audio software. DrumCore places your selected
loop into the DAW's audio file bin. When using ProTools, audio can even be
placed on a track wherever the cursor is located. Support for ReWire allows
audio and MIDI data to flow between your DAW and DrumCore.
DrumCore for the Macintosh is available immediately via the DrumCore website
and selected dealers for $249.00, U.S. suggested retail price.
