Keeley Electronics Announces Fuzz Head Pedal
January 12, 2004
New from Keeley Electronics is the Fuzz Head, a blend of Fuzz and Overdrive. The Fuzz
Head's circuit and buffered output produces a fuzz that
is intended to work with any guitar/amp combination.
Features:
- NPN Germanium Transistor
- Additional Gain Stage, a Darlington Pair of high gain silicon transistors for tons of volume output. This is for overdriving tube amps or other overdrive pedals.
- Buffered output so that it can drive pedals or amps with a high current and low impedance signal.
- True-Bypass
- Large Blue LED.
- Silicon/Germanium Toggle switch, this is a gain Style switch.
The "SI" mode inserts two diodes in the distortion circuit so you can have a modern twist on a vintage sound. It increases the gain and compression a bit for more sustain. This is more of an overdrive mode rather than raw break-up. The "GE" mode is natural and open sounding.
The Fuzz Head also includes an internal drive-range Control. so you can fine-tune from light overdrive tones to a roaring Fuzz.
The Fuzz Head can be powered by batteries or an external 9 Volt DC power supply.
Price: $195. Available starting in February, 2004
