PRESS RELEASE

Traktion-Equipped GHOST Hexpander Preamp Announced

July 10, 2004

Graph Tech Guitar Labs' GHOST Hexpander pre-amp provides MIDI-compatible hexaphonic output, and is now improved.

The key to accurate tracking, says Graph Tech, is matching hexaphonic output frequencies with controller signal processing characteristics. This is complicated by the design of popular MIDI controllers, such as Roland and Axon, that read the incoming hexaphonic signal at different parts of the sound wave. Furthermore, every guitar, and guitar player, produces a slightly different tonal output that contributes its own nuance to the hexaphonic signal.

To accomodate this, Graph Tech has offered two incarnations of their Hexpander pre-amp for the best tracking performance possible with any guitar/controller combination. The advantage to this approach is that you get a dedicated pre-amp that communicates as accurately as possible with the appropriate setup. The downside is, of course, that having a dedicated unit precludes high performance tracking on a different system.

To address this, the new Traktion-equipped GHOST Hexpander pre-amp features a microswitch on the dual-circuit pre-amp, easily accessible beside the 13-pin output jack, allowing the user to modify the tracking curve and optimize the hexaphonic output signal for their unique guitar/ playing style/controller configuratio for improved tracking accuracy and performance under a variety of guitar/playing style/controller configurations.

The system is modular and simple to install; very little soldering is required. Components plug together, making the addition of the numerous switching and blending options a literal snap.

The GHOST MIDI-compatible pickup system is available to fit hundreds of guitar models and starts at a MSRP of $360.00
