TASCAM has announced upgrade pricing for the new version of the GigaStudio 3 software sampling workstation. GigaStudio 3 comes in three versions -- GigaStudio 3 Orchestra, GigaStudio 3 Ensemble and GigaStudio 3 Solo. Customers who purchased GigaStudio 160 after January 1, 2004 can upgrade to the flagship Orchestra version for only $50, which is less expensive than waiting for GigaStudio 3 Orchestra to ship.
Customers who purchased GigaStudio 2 after January 1, 2004 can take advantage of the following special pricing:
- GS2.5 160 > GS3 Orchestra $50
- GS2.5 96 > GS3 Orchestra $225
- GS2.5 96 > GS3 Ensemble $50
- GS2.5 32 > GS3 Orchestra $375
- GS2.5 32 > GS3 Ensemble $200
- GS2.5 32 > GS3 Solo $60
The standard prices to upgrade to GigaStudio 3 are as follows:
- GS2.5 160 > GS3 Orchestra $249
- GS2.5 96 > GS3 Orchestra $349
- GS2.5 96 > GS3 Ensemble $149
- Any other version of GigaStudio or GigaSampler > GS3 Orchestra $399
- Any other version of GigaStudio or GigaSampler > GS3 Ensemble $249

GigaStudio 3 Orchestra has a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $599. The MSRP for GigaStudio 3 Ensemble is $369, and the MSRP for GigaStudio 3 Solo is $199. GigaStudio 3 adds dozens of new features to GigaStudio, such as unlimited polyphony, VST plug-in support, 96k/24-bit sampling and ReWire support.
