Jasmine Audio announced the newest release of their Macintosh-based audio editor, Jasmine Audio 1.8, which has been completely rewritten for OS X. As such, Jasmine now has a whole new Mac OS X interface, a flexible and robust import and export feature, help tags, bug fixes and more.
"This build sets the stage for major improvements in the coming months as we continue with the development of Jasmine," said Robert "Buzz" Hill, Jasmine's founder and chief developer. "The changes we made in this release allow us to bring Jasmine up to speed with the iPod revolution by allowing users to import MP3s, create edits and fades, then export the project as a high quality MP4/AAC file."
Version 1.8 now allows for support of multiple file formats including MP4/AAC, WAV, AIFF, AVI, 3GPP, System 7, uLaw, and several QuickTime formats. This feature allows for changes in sampling frequency (up to 48 kHz), bit depth, stereo interlacing, and common compression/streaming protocols. Files can be mixed and formatted for use with programs such as Apple's Garage Band or iMovie.
Jasmine is free to try for 14 days, and $29.95 to buy. Registered users are eligible for free upgrades to Jasmine 1.8. Users who have tried Jasmine before, are eligible for an additional fourteen days to try version 1.8.
