Two New B3 Organ Collections for Kurweil K2 Synths October 21, 2004
K-Sounds has announced two B3 organ collections for the Kurzweil K2-series
synthesizers: KS B3 and KS Rotary.
The KS B3 collection explores KB3 mode and KDFX, both exclusive to the K2500
and K2600. KB3 mode is used to provide a variety of drawbar settings and
timbres. KDFX programming offers unique rotary speaker and overdrive
effects, as well as additional sound variation.
Real-time control options are provided. Augmenting the standard control over
KB3 drawbars, chorus / vibrato, percussion, and rotary speaker speed, most
programs offer control over speaker type, overdrive amount, or delay
wet/dry.
The KS Rotary collection uses VAST, not KB3 mode or KDFX, to provide organ
tones and rotary speaker effects. Unlike KS B3, these sounds are compatible
with all K2xxx models including the K2000. KS Rotary offers many drawbar
settings and tone variations, as well as optional percussion and rotor
noise. ROM organ samples are used, as are twelve newly sampled drawbar
settings exclusive to this collection.
Programs and setups are provided. Programs emulate both the horn and rotor
of a real rotary speaker. Setups offer enhanced horn emulation as well as
independent horn and rotor speeds. Programs and setups feature
single-trigger percussion on many sounds, and rotor noise is available as a
zone in the Setups.
For both sound collections, operating system requirements may apply. KS
Rotary requires 1MB sample RAM.
KS B3 is available for $15 with email delivery, or $17 for hard copy plus shipping and handling. KS Rotary costs $30 via email or $32 for physical media. For more information, visit their web site at www.ksounds.com. |
