New MPC Format MegaDisk Collection from Syntaur December 3, 2004
Syntaur's new MegaDisk for the Akai MPC samplers takes a different
approach from previous sound sets: it packs as much punch as possible onto
a single floppy disk. The result is a collection of 31
complete instruments, of incredibly small file
size. This means that the sounds won't tax the memory in the sampler, and
they load up in quickly.
But don't such small file sizes mean thinner sounds? "Not at all," says
Sam Mims, Syntaur's owner. "The sounds on this disk are as high-quality
as our other products, and they're great for HipHop and other styles of
music. The small file sizes just mean a lot of extra work on the
programming end to make a good-sounding product."
Orchestral strings, brass, ethnic instruments, bells, flutes, jazz and
orchestra hits, and much more are included on this disk, all presented in
a HipHop flavor.
The MPC MegaDisk is available now for $18.95. For more information, visit their web site at www.syntaur.com. |
