New Orion Classic Burlwood Kits from Mapex

February 13, 2004Mapex Drums introduced their newest luxurious
wood finish in their Orion Classic Series, the Orion Classic Burlwood. These
kits are now available from Mapex as part of the Mapex Orion
Classic series. The drumsets feature six plys of North
American maple capped off with a final ply of highly figured
burlwood.
Mapex endorsing artist Brady Blade, Jr. who recently completed a double duty
tour with Dave Matthews and Friends and Emmylou Harris, has taken delivery
of an Orion Burlwood kit, for his upcoming tour with the Indigo Girls. Blade
will tour nationwide with a custom 9-piece Imperial Burst Orion Burlwood
drum set starting in March.
Orion Burlwood drum sets, manufactured entirely in the Mapex
manufacturing plant, are available in 6- and 5-piece configurations. The
wood finished drums, coupled with Mapex top of the line
hardware, make these kits Mapex premier offering in their line.
Six-piece Orion Burlwood sets include a 22x18 bass drum, a 16x13 floor tom,
10x8, 12x9, and 12x11 floor toms and a 14x5.5 snare drum. With hardware, the
6-piece kit carries a Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price of $5,920.00.
MSRP without hardware is $5203.00.
Five-piece Orion Burlwood drumsets include a 22x18 bass drum, a 14x11 floor
tom, 12x9 and 10x8 rack toms, and a 14x5.5 snare drum and carry a MSRP of
$4,600.00, not including hardware.
Orion Burlwood kits can be custom ordered in antique ivory, imperial burst,
ebony burst, and coffee burst; hardware is offered in black, gold or chrome.
