HHB is
introducing the new PortaDrive v1.2 software featuring a number of updates
including ProTools V5 format support, simultaneous recording to an external
disc, enhanced meta data support, and Ethernet data transfer.
Pro Tools V5 format support in the new v1.2 software allows PortaDrive to
record directly in Pro Tools V5 format (PT5). This allows direct import of
PortaDrive sessions into Pro Tools V5 and above systems without the need for
manual import. SDII Audio file support in the software upgrade additionally
allows PortaDrive to record using the SDII file format for increased
interoperability with earlier Pro Tools and AVID editing systems.
Simultaneous recording to an external disk is now possible with PortaDrive.
Version 1.2 software provides the ability to record tracks seven and eight
plus all session information simultaneously to an external disk.
Enhanced Metadata support in PortaDrive's v1.2 software issue adds front
panel editing of SLATE, TAKE and NOTES in addition to existing top panel
support, as well as full editing of those functions before and after
recording. NOTES may additionally be edited during recording. The release
also adds front panel CIRCLE/UNCIRCLE functionality plus front panel PS2
keyboard text entry.
New Ethernet data transfer support permits drag and drop data transfer
between PortaDrive and Windows or Macintosh machines. HFS Disk format
support has been added in v1.2, allowing PortaDrive to format, write to and
read from Mac-based HFS formatted disks.
The Portadrive records over four hours of uncompressed eight-channel
24-bit/96kHz or over twenty hours of four-channel 24-bit/48kHz audio onto a
removable 40GB hard disk. A range of
input and output options avoids the requirement for non-standard,
expensive signal cables and includes eight line inputs, four line outputs,
eight channels of digital I/O and six high gain XLR
microphone inputs. All mic inputs feature individual phantom powering,
gangable limiters, input pads, a high pass filter, adjustable delay
(essential when working with radio mics) and phase reverse, empowering
Portadrive production mixers to capture pristine sound from multiple
microphone sources while on the move.
HHB products are distributed exclusively in the United States, Mexico,
Central and South America and the Caribbean by Sennheiser Electronic
