With the new Soundcaster cymbal line made with B12 bronze alloy, Meinl is the only cymbal maker who uses 5 different alloys for crafting cymbals (B20, B12, B8, FX9, and MS63 brass).
Soundcaster cymbals are the result of efforts in finding new sounds. Cymbals made from B12 bronze alloy, which have a higher content of tin (12%), for a smooth, rich sound with great dynamics and expression, according to the company.
Soundcaster Cymbals are uniformly hammered which results in a controlled, even decay with a harmonic overtone spectrum. They are very delicately lathed, which involves a thinning of the cymbal surface towards the edge. A precise stick definition and a wide range of dynamics are the result of this process.
