Submersible Music has started shipping a new
version of its DrumCore software, now making it
available for both PC and Macintosh.
DrumCore version 1.5 offers library
expansion via "DrummerPacks", user-created drumkits and enhanced export to
popular DAW applications. This software for creating drum
tracks is targeted at producers, composers, and musicians who need drums in
a multitude of styles. It consists of three DVDs containing the DrumCore
application and content (audio and MIDI) by renowned drummers. These include
Alan White (John Lennon, Yes), Matt Sorum (Guns N' Roses, Velvet Revolver),
Sly Dunbar (Bob Marley), Zoro (Lenny Kravitz), Jeff Anthony (Sheryl Crow),
John Bishop (Ernie Watts), Ben Smith (Heart), Tony Braunagel (Bonnie Raitt),
Ned Douglas (Dave Stewart), DJ Syze-up (Ultra Nate), and Michael Shrieve
(Santana). DrumCore provides a loop librarian for finding content; a MIDI
drum module for playing drum sounds (snare, kick, etc.) via MIDI; ReWire,
ASIO and platform audio support; and easy export to popular applications
(including Pro Tools, Logic, Digital Performer, Sonar, Cubase/Nuendo and
others).
DrumCore 1.5 Features:
Loop Librarian/Search Engine - the fastest way to the perfect groove
The DrumCore search engine provides quick access to thousands of grooves,
fills, variations and individual drum sounds. Search content based on
drummer, style (rock, country, and others), feel (straight, shuffle, etc.),
time signature and tempo. Users can change criteria (create a new style like
"Shred-Funk" for example) and enter their own comments for searching. Also
it can be used for organizing third-party audio and MIDI libraries.
Over 9GB of Pristine Content - NEW for 1.5: "DrummerPacks" for a constantly
expanding library of new content
Both digital audio (48kHz/24-bit) and MIDI grooves are included. Audio was
recorded at 5-10 BPM tempo increments, since drummers play differently at
different tempos. This results in more musical grooves and keeps audio from
being compromised by time-stretching or beat-slicing. Content was recorded
in professionally designed studios using state-of-the-art digital (Pro Tools
HD) and analog (SSL 9000, Neve, etc.). Plus DrumCore includes 700 extra
MIDI song beats in addition to the "name" drummer MIDI content.
And now DrumCore users can get even more great content from world-class
drummers through Submersible DrummerPack expansion packs (sold separately).
Currently there are Matt Sorum, Sly Dunbar and Zoro DrummerPacks available
with more on the way. All come pre-indexed and arranged as GrooveSets.
The "Gabrielizer" - fuel for the creative process
DrumCore's "Gabrielizer" technology intelligently generates variations on
selected audio or MIDI content based on rules created by asking drummers
what they do when they take a beat and "mix-up". Gabrielized files can be
saved back into the DrumCore library and/or exported to your digital audio
workstation (DAW).
MIDI Drum Module - NEW for 1.5: "User Kits"
DrumCore's MIDI drum module comes loaded with each drummer's drumkit. It can
be used to play the included MIDI grooves or for creating your own beats
using a MIDI sequencer. Use a controller to select DrumCore as a MIDI device
and the play the drumkits in real time. And with 1.5, users can easily
create their own drumkits using their own sample libraries or by mixing and
matching the included DrumCore sounds.
DAW Integration -NEW for 1.5: "Drag Export"
Project/session integration and numerous export options make it easy to get
drum parts into other popular audio software. When using Pro Tools, audio
can even be placed ("spotted") on a track directly from DrumCore. ReWire
support allows audio and MIDI to flow between your DAW and DrumCore. With
1.5, users can even drag files straight from DrumCore to audio tracks in
their DAW application.
DrumCore 1.5 for the Macintosh is available currently via the DrumCore
website and selected dealers for $249.00, U.S. retail price. DrumCore 1.0
