ART 820 Classic Head Features Built-In Effects

July 11, 1997

The future of guitar signal processing is here with the A R T Classic Head! A R T brings a revolutionary concept to the real-world of guitar amplification: the DST Eighty/Eighty Express housed in a classic, wood cabinet. A R T has arranged the perfect marriage of an advanced tube guitar preamp and a stereo power amp designed by Dan Pearce with digital effects. With vintage stylish looks that fits on any classic or contemporary speaker cabinet, the Classic Head is the perfect compliment for any enclosure.

The Classic Head provides versatility and ease of use, coupled with an advanced stereo power amp design offering 80 watts RMS per channel (into 4 ohms.) Two damping factors are available for the power amp offering a tight, solid-state setting and a loose, tube-like setting. Custom designed presets emulate all the sounds from the vintage heads of the 70's, 80's and the classic sounds of the 90's.

The Classic Head redefines cabinet-powered guitar signal processing. The preamp section is fully programmable. All control knobs are digitized, including the EQ Choose one of five preamp types including the renowned XTREME distortion and new 12AX7 tube overdrive, Roar, Stack and Crystal. Dial in any EQ setting with sweepable mids, and combine the preamp type with any of 25 digital algorithms. Press the 'save' button and your custom settings are saved! The control knobs are interactive, and modifications can be made on-the-fly without having to access menus or multiple screens. The digital effects include the most widely used effects like reverb, delay, chorus and tremolo as-well-as others and allow you to tweak parameters and save the settings with any preamp type to any of 75 user presets. It's like having multiple stomp-boxes built right into your head, no more cable-clutter and dying batteries!

Full, real-time MIDI implementation allows you to change parameters, presets, and tone on-the-fly, hands free when connected to a MIDI controller pedal, such as the A R T X-15. Nowhere can you get such versatility, power and tone from a head than from the A R T Classic Head. If you're in the market for killer tone and ease of use, take the next step in guitar processing. You owe it to yourself to plug into the Classic Head at your authorized A R T dealer today. A R T guitar processing - creating tools for guitarists of the real-world.
