Lindert Building the 2 Thumbs UpTM Double-Neck Bass July 11, 1997
Lindert Guitars is turning heads with its unique double necked bass. The 2 Thumbs UpTM Bass is a
six stringed bass designed to play as good as it looks. The Thumbs Up completion date is set for
July 13th.
"Although the bass's design looks intimidating, it is not intimidating to play. In fact, the 2 Thumbs
UpTM provides unparalleled playability," Says Larry Krupla, Production Manager. It includes shorter
light weight strings with close spacing for easier fingering.
"This design is special because combines a unique 30 inch scale six string bass on the upper neck with a regular 25.5 inch scale neck in the lower position," says designer Chuck Lindert. In addition, it features Lindert's Escape VelocityTM neck, ergonomically designed to be half rounded and half VEE for faster playing action, and less hand fatigue.
This double neck body is based on the radial grill pattern of the Lindert LocomotiveTM T and S models with the two necks 5" from center to center. Connecting the necks together in the side by side duplicate pattern allows the selector switch for the upper neck pickups and the neck selector switch to be placed in the space between the bridges. To add adaptability both neck pockets are the same size so a 30 inch fits the standard "Strat".
Like all the guitars and basses in the locomotive series, the 2 Thumbs UpTM bass has semi-hollow
body. The body is adorned by texture painted TonyteTM beechwood brown and cream color
combination. For more information, visit their web site at www.lindertguitars.com. |
