Zoom 509 Modulator and 510 Power Driver

July 11, 1997

Using unique "Dual Power" processing from Zoom, the new 509 MODULATOR and 510 DRIVER feature TWO effect generators in each pedal for more effects overall and radical new ways of combining those effects.

The Zoom 509 MODULATOR'S dual on-board effects generators, EFFECT 1 and EFFECT 2, can be used simultaneously to create absolutely unique sound variations by combining different modulation effects. Each device has 24 patches locations for storing user presets. The 509 has 20 built-in effects including choruses, flangers, phasers, doublers, "step" effects, EQs, rotary, tremolo, Auto-pan and more. It is also the first multi-effects pedal to include a stereo 2-voice pitch shifter and a Harmonized Pitch Shifter that lets you select a key and then create dual harmonies off of it.

The Zoom 510 DRIVER features TWO on-board distortion effects generators -- PRE-DRIVE and MAIN-DRIVE which let guitarists create an infinite amount of completely different new distortion variations. A totally unique "auto parallel" feature lets you vary the balance of Pre-Drive and Main-Drive by changing the intensity of the picking attack. The optional Zoom FP01 EXPRESSION PEDAL can be used to control pedal wah, octaver and other dynamic effects.

Equipped with distortion effects including, the 510 includes: Booster, Rhythm, Light Overdrive, Dynamic Overdrive, Compressor, Auto Wah, Pedal Wah, Octaver, Overdrive, Blues Overdrive, Fat Drive, Distortion, Fuzz, Grunge, Lead, and Metal along with EQ, ZNR (Zoom Noise Reduction) and an Amp Simulator. It also has an envelope filter for more sound variations. You can use the Zoom FP01 Expression Pedal to adjust pitch, effect mix level, output level and other parameters. An integrated auto-chromatic tuner is also included.
