Soundtracs Introduces MXD Series Sound Reinforcement Consoles July 11, 1997
Soundtracs is introducing the new MXD Series of Sound Reinforcement Consoles. Taking advantage of the depth of technologies and expertise from the entire range of Soundtracs products, the three innovative mid-priced MXD Series consoles bring a new degree of functionality, quality and cost-effectiveness to one of the fastest-growing market segments in the professional audio industry. The new MXD Series have extensive applications in multiple niches, from FOH touring music productions to theaters to fixed installations such as churches and convention halls.
The range of features on the 32-, 40- and 48-input versions of the Soundtracs MXD series consoles put them into a class far beyond their price. These include eight sub-groups; eight flexible auxiliaries; four matrix outputs; and left, right and center mix buses, In addition, an advanced Mute Group and Scene system provides MXD users with a degree of automation found only on the most expensive sound reinforcement consoles. Mute Grouping and Scene control is implemented by a dual function custom-designed computer control panel to the right of the master section. Up to eight mute groups can be stored, recalled and merged using eight dedicated master mute keys. The scene system allows 100 mute scenes to be stored and recalled by number. Recall is possible manually or via an external MIDI controller device, allowing sync mute changes for A/V or manual changes on a scripted cue. The control panel is simple and intuitive but allows very powerful features normally only possible with extensive automation computers.
Building on previous successful Soundtracs console technologies, the MXD Series also incorporates the popular Soundtracs Megas EQ with four-band EQ with swept mids and an 80 Hz high-pass filter. In terms of operation and flexibility, the MXD consoles also include functions such as reverse fader operation between group masters and aux send masters, allowing the MXDs to function as monitor consoles, as well. Also integrated into the MXD consoles' design is an intercom system for external talkback. In addition, the MXD Series feature high-rigidity, torsion-free touring chassis that can take the rigors of the road and still perform reliably trouble-free night after night, show after show.
The Soundtracs MXD Series of Sound Reinforcement Consoles represents a quantum leap in terms of price-performance and the future of live sound.
