Peavey Mentor Feedback Controller July 11, 1997
Peavey Electronics Corporation announces the introduction of the MENTOR,
featuring two of Peavey's patent pending FLSTM Feedback Locating Systems in an independent
format.
Each system, consisting of a series of 31 LEDs, provides instant indication of where feedback is
occurring by lighting an LED which reveals the specific frequency where the feedback is? based on
standard ISO centers. The LED will stay lit for a few seconds if intermittent feedback stops before
an adjustment is made. If the feedback frequency is between two ISO centers, the FLSTM will
light the two appropriate LEDs with variation in LED intensity to indicate if the feedback is closer to
one center or the other. If new feedback occurs while an LED is lit. the FLS instantly shifts to the
appropriate LED.
The MENTOR is also designed to indicate "hot" or offending feedback exactly where the
frequencies are, allowing you to more accurately balance the mix, by boosting the kick or cutting
the cymbals, for example. The MENTOR's dual independent FLS design provides potential for a
variety of applications, such as stereo PA systems, split use with a mono PA and monitor system,
main and drum monitor set-ups, studio EQing, and more.
The MENTOR is easily installed into any PA or monitor system and is designed for best operation
when connected directly after the EQs. Its single-rack space format is designed for maximum
space efficiency and it comes with both balanced XLR and unbalanced l/4" inputs and outputs. The
MENTOR is designed to be used with any 1/3 octave EQ, but works well with dual 15-band 2/3
octaves, too. As a bonus, for systems without an on-board real-time analyzer, the MENTOR can
also perform basic real-time analysis. For more information, visit their web site at www.peavey.com. |
