Roland G-600 Arranger Workstation Keyboard
July 11, 1997
Stepping up to meet the needs of today's demanding MIDI music arrangers and performers, Roland is proud to introduce the G-600 Arranger Workstation keyboard. The G-600-a scaled down, 61-note version of Roland's flagship G-800-boasts a healthy stable of professional features including: 689 high-quality GM/GS sounds, 25 complete drum sets, 128 high-definition music styles, 64-voice polyphony and a velocity-sensitive keyboard. These features make the G-600 perfect for music arrangers, instructors, "lounge" keyboardists, music learners, hobbyists, performing musicians and more.
The G-600's sophisticated realtime arranger features up to eight separate tracks of high-resolution (120 ticks per quarter note), multi-instrument accompaniment and a 3.5" floppy disk drive for instant Standard MIDI File (SMF) song/style recording and playback. A new Dynamic Arranger function allows for instant volume control of each arranger track according to key touch level. Easy "music-minus-one" performance is possible using MIDI files, and up to five parts (Upper1, Upper2, Lower, MBass, MDrums) can be played together with the arranger tracks or with SMF songs. The powerful arranger even allows for the display of SMF lyrics both on the G-600's bright LCD and on an external TV or video monitor (using optional LVC-1N Lyrics Video Convertor).
The 128 brand new onboard music styles have been specially developed to fully satisfy the needs of today's sophisticated performers, incorporating everything from swing and gospel to dance, rock and pop. Each preset style offers up to six variations and four drum patterns that can be used "as is" or modified using sophisticated editing controls. Users can then store these modified styles or their own user-created styles either internally or on floppy disk for playback. Optional Roland MSA and MSD Series music style disks provide even more music style variations.
Dedicated buttons provide control over volume, pan, chorus, reverb, delay and tone changes, while a bright backlit LCD ensures that G-600 users won't get lost even in the most sophisticated of editing and MIDI mapping operations. User settings can be stored into any of 192 Performance memories-a great help in live performance.
Sophisticated Chord Recognition and Piano Style functions round out the G-600's strong feature set. Chord Recognition can manage and play chords and bass inversions like C 9/D or Ab Maj7 9/Bb, as well as a variety of other complex chord combinations, while Piano Style provides intelligent full-range keyboard
Chord Recognition.
With its large, newly designed graphic user interface and a wealth of inspiring sounds, styles and built-in effects, the G-600 is the perfect arranger keyboard for musicians who require a flexible, "all-in-one" instrument. For more information, visit their web site at www.rolandus.com. |
