Sabian Expands Cymbal Station Capabilities for Marching Percussion July 11, 1997
Sabian is pleased to introduce new additions to its Cymbal
Station series of marching harnesses, including retro-fit attachments for expanded
capability with Sabian Cymbal Stations, and Yamaha and Pearl snare drum carriers.
Adding combined snare drum and
cymbal options is the aluminum AFSC2 Cymbal Station. A lightweight harness fitted with a
free-floating snare carrier and two fully adjustable arms for cymbal and hi-hat
positioning, it offers players the added benefit of combining various sound sources.
Featuring a snare holder and two arms, the MFSC2 is identical in design to the AFSC2 but in
superlight magnesium. Designed to expand existing one-arm AFSC 1 and MFSC1 stations into
two-armed AFSC2 or MFSC 2 versions, the CH1 is a retro-fit attachment which can also
increase the carrying capability Pearl FFSA or Yamaha RM-FCS and RM-SFZ snare carriers to
include a cymbal.
Comments David Via, Sabian Director of Marketing: "Cymbal Stations offer Marching Bands and
Drum Corps unique opportunities to perform with unmatched mobility and creativity. In
addition to enabling one player to perform on a snare drum and a number of different
cymbals, Cymbal Stations are highly appreciated by band directors and arrangers who are now
able to unify snare, hi-hat, and cymbal parts into single performer arrangements. Magic of
Orlando did just that when they caputured their Top 12 position at the '96 DCI World
Championships."
