Samson Expands QMIC Into New Family of Microphones July 11, 1997
Building on the success of the QMIC vocal microphone and QE (exercise) and QV (vocal) headset mics, the new Q2 instrument/vocal mic and Q3 instrument mic have been added to the QMIC line to create a "family" of new generation mics that embody the very latest in technology and performance.
Like the original QMIC, the Q2 and Q3 are dynamic mics with modern neodymium elements that provide maximum gain. Both the Q2 and Q3 feature a transformerless design and aluminum humbucking voice coil for quieter performance. A multi-axis shockmount element reduces handling noise while a switchable pad and high pass filter offer more sonic control.
Compact and accurate, the new Q2 has a unidirectional cardioid pattern for maximum effectiveness in high SPL vocal and instrument situations. Designed for instrument/drum miking, the Q3 includes a focused hypercardioid pattern and rotates over 90 degrees for optimum placement.
The QMIC family also features unique multi-stage windscreen/noise filter that significantly reduces the effects of excessive sibilance, "pops" and on-stage noise. The element is enclosed in a multi-axis shock-mount chassis to reduce handling noise and ensure quiet performance.
Manufactured to the closest tolerances and highest quality standards at every stage, QMICs include a low-impedance design and a gold-plated XLR connector.
The QV and QE headset microphones both include a high-quality condenser mic element with a tight hypercardioid pattern to reduce feedback. The QE has a special waterproof design to minimize the effects of moisture in fitness training and aerobics applications. Both the QE and QV are currently available in wireless versions only.
MSRP for the new Q2 is $174 and the new Q3 is $224. For more information the Q "Family" and Samson Audio, call (516) 364-2244, fax: (516) 364-3888 or write to: Samson Technologies Corp., P.O. Box 9031, Syosset, NY 11791-9031. For more information, visit their web site at www.samsontech.com. |
