Samson Audio Servo 4060 and 4120 Quad Power Amps

July 11, 1997

Samson recently introduced the new Servo 4060 and 4120 Quad power amplifiers to provide more power, flexibility and features for variety of applications where bi- and tri-amping is required.

Ideal for live use, permanent installations, distributed sound and recording, the new Servo Quad 4060 is a 2-space rackmount power amp that delivers 60 watts per channel into a 4 ohm load -- in bridged mode, 120 watts into 8 ohms per side -- over a frequency range of 20 Hz to 50 kHz.

The four 60 watt amplifiers can be bridged separately to provide either two 120 watt amps or one 120 watt amp and two 60 watt amps for bi- and tri-amping. The 4060 includes high-current output power transistors and a unique bipolar circuit design. It also includes balanced 1/4" and RCA inputs on gold-plated connectors along with binding post outputs, two front-panel protection LEDs, four 5-segment LED meters, four separate volume controls with 41 detents, and thermal and overcurrent protection circuitry. The Servo 4060 is convection-cooled for quiet operation.

The new Quad Servo 4120 offers even more power in two rack spaces, delivering 120 watts per channel into 4 ohms -- in bridged mode, 240 watts into 8 ohms per side -- over a frequency range of 20 Hz to 50 kHz. Like the 4060, the 4120 can be bridged separately as two 240 watt amps or one 240 watt amp and two 120 watt amps for bi- and tri-amping.

The 4120 also features a special bipolar circuit design for maximum performance. It also has balanced 1/4" and RCA inputs on gold-plated connectors and binding post outputs, two front-panel protection LEDs, 5-segment LED meters, four separate volume controls with 41 detents for greater accuracy, and thermal and overcurrent protection circuitry. The Servo 4120 is convection-cooled for quiet operation. Suggested retail price for the Servo 4060 Quad amp is $449 and the 4120 Quad amp is $599.
