July 11, 1997
Steinberg North America announces the release of Cubase VST 3.5 for the Apple Macintosh. Cubase is a software application that combines MIDI sequencing with digital audio in an integrated recording and editing environment. Steinberg's Virtual Studio Technology (VST) allows for realtime effects processing. Timed perfectly to coincide with the arrival of various multi-I/O audio cards for PCI-based Power Macs, Cubase VST 3.5 supports multi I/O with its new Bus system.
Now the new Cubase VST 3.5 is a complete recording and editing studio with all the versatility and quality which today's professional musicians and producers demand.
Each channel in the VST audio mixer can be assigned to any of the physical I/O's featured on the audio card. Anyone who wants to group instruments will appreciate the new Subgroups in the VST mixer. Of course the Subgroups support free channel routing as well.
Now is the time to finally integrate your beloved special analog outboard gear into your digital computer based studio setup. Any effects send, even the returns, can be routed to individual outputs. Now all your genuine tube EQs, limiters, compressors and valuable reverbs can be added to your sound.
The new Cubase VST 3.5 ASIO system supports the following multi I/O devices:
Lexicon Studio, Korg 1212, Digidesign's AudioMedia III, Lucid Technology PCI24, Event Electronics' Layla and Darla cards.
In version 3.5 a range of new Steinberg PlugIns are included. The Externalizer and the new WunderVerb3-Reverb which does not eat more processor power than the current Espacial, but amazes by it's distinctive warmth and density.
The update from Cubase 3.02 to 3.5 is free of charge for all registered Cubase users. For more information, visit their web site at www.steinberg.net. |
