Bag End Introduces Double-10 Quad-10 Bass Cabinets

July 10, 1998For those who have always wanted the sound quality and prestige of owning and playing through BAG END loudspeakers but couldn't quite fit them into the budget, BAG END Loudspeaker Systems has solved the problem.

BAG END is introducing its all-new D10B-D double-10 bass cabinet and Q10B-D bass cabinets at the 1998 Summer NAMM Show, July 10-12 in Nashville.

The D10B-D and Q10B-D, the newest additions to BAG END's popular "Deep Red" series of bass cabinets, are close relatives of BAG END's popular D10BX-D and Q10BX-D, which the Barrington, Ill. manufacturer introduced three years ago at Summer NAMM.

Biggest difference, aside from a smaller price tag, is the D10B-D and Q10B-D don't contain a tweeter and, therefore, don't require a crossover.

"Just like the more expensive D10BX-D and Q10BX-D, the D10B-D and Q10B-D are housed in our deeper, 18-inch deep cabinet," said John Vitale, sales manager for BAG END. "And, because of the wide frequency response, clear sound and high-power handing capability of the speakers, in many cases most listeners won't miss the absence of a tweeter."

The D10B-D is loaded with a pair of of E-10, 10-inch woofers and the Q10B-D is loaded with four E-10, 10-inch cones. The "Deep Red" series owes its name to the subtle, deep red covering which gives the cabinets a distinctive look. The deepness of the red carpeting has a ruby-like richness that can be appreciated close up, but blends toward black from a distance.

"The D10B-D and Q10B-D are 'engineered' loudspeaker systems from a company whose strength is in designing and manufacturing studio and hi-fi subwoofer systems," said

James P. Wischmeyer, president of BAG END Loudspeaker Systems. "We use the knowledge and expertise we have gained over the more than 20 years of designing high quality systems to produce any new product.
