DOD Performer Amplifier Series Expanded with G212 July 10, 1998DOD is introducing its new G212 - the latest addition to the Performer Amplifier Series - at the Summer NAMM Show in Nashville, Tennessee.
The G212 combo provides 100 watts of discrete MOSFET into two custom-designed Eminence 12-inch speakers (8 ohms; 100 watts RMS per side; 200 watts peak). Like its sibling, the G112, the amplifier's gain has been shifted back to the amp's front end, rather than residing in the power amplifier stage, making the G212 extremely quiet when the guitarist isn't playing.
The amp's two-channel preamp section is loaded with professional features like stereo chorus, tremolo, spring reverb and Grunge(TM) distortion - all with selector switches and rotary controls. The clean and distortion channels each feature separate three-band EQs on passive tone controls. Two independent inputs (high and low), as well as footswitch connectors for control of the G212's effects, are found on the front panel, while an external speaker jack on the back permits the use of an additional eight-ohm cabinet.
The G212's exterior is coated with durable black vinyl, while a stylish gray grille cloth protects the speaker. The cabinet's dimensions are 191/2" (H) x 271/2" (W) x 91/2" (D). For more information, visit their web site at www.dod.com. |
