PRESS RELEASE

Martinsound Introduces ACX(TM) Automated Console Expander

July 10, 1998The Martinsound Automated Console Expander (ACX(TM)) will make its NAMM debut in Nashville, July 10th - 12th, 1998. The ACX will make its premier at Omnisound Studios at 1806 Division Street, Nashville, on July 11th, at 7 p.m. All engineers, producers and members of the press are cordially invited.

The ACX offers an elegant solution to any studio wishing to expand the capabilities of their Flying Faders(TM)-automated consoles. Providing 48-track monitoring in a frame measuring just 30 inches (76.2 cm) wide, the ACX offers comprehensive features in a compact package and complete integration with any console's Flying Faders system.

Available in 16, 24 and 32 input channel frames, the Martinsound ACX may be integrated with any console's multitrack, auxiliary, stereo and solo busses. The ACX input channel features 2 line inputs with individual trim controls, 4 band equalizer with 2 variable filters, 4 auxiliary sends, 8 busses, stereo panning, direct output, insert, solo and mute. The 2 line inputs may be individually selected or summed. All inputs, outputs and summing busses are balanced. The optional events control facilities of the Flying Faders system may be added to automate the Input Select, Input Sum, EQ In and Insert switches.

"Studios with multiple Flying Faders systems will see great benefit in moving the ACX from room to room to increase utilization and spread the cost," suggests Martinsound VP and Products Manager, Dale Manquen. "Only the ACX offers total integration with the Flying Faders automation system, allowing global solo and assignment of groups. Plus, there's just one disk to save."

Many studios cannot fit a larger console into their control room, so the ACX design brief called for modules just 1.2 inches (30 mm) wide. The frame is 32 inches (81.3 cm) front-to-back and tilts on the roll-around pedestal to fit through narrow doorways. The ACX utilizes a hard motherboard system with plug-in modules, and offers first class construction and components, with easy serviceability. An extra module slot in all frame sizes provides space for customization.
