QSC Showcases Next Generation PLX Series Power Amplifiers
July 10, 1998QSC Audio has announced the debut of the PLX Series, QSC's newest generation of amplifier technology. Incorporating QSC's exclusive PowerWave(tm) switching power supply, the PLX Series combines the audio performance of QSC's award-winning PowerLight Series with the value of the best selling MX Series.
Four initial models include thePLX1202, PLX 1602, PLX2402, and PLX3002. At 2 ohms, the PLX1202 provides 600 watts/ch, the PLX1602 800 watts/ch , the PLX2002 1200 watts/ch and the PLX 3002 1,500 watts/ch. Featuring advanced SMT design, the PLX Series delivers high power in a compact 2-RU chassis, each weighing 21 lbs and only 12" deep.
The PLX features studio-quality audio performance including a virtually inaudible hum and noise (-110 dB 20Hz-20kHz) and ultra-low distortion performance (.03% THD at rated power into 8 ohms). Proportional-response clip limiters optimize limiting based on program material to preserve program dynamics, and user selectable low-frequency filters increase usable power and protect speakers. Other standard features include all-metal XLR and 1/4" balanced inputs, Neutrik Speak-on and touch-proof binding post outputs, and comprehensive LED indicators including a three-step signal ladder, true clip, protect, bridge-mono, and parallel input mode status.
The PLX Series will be available by mid-summer 1998. For more information, visit their web site at www.qscaudio.com. |
