Zildjian Introduces Mastersound HiHats July 10, 1998Legendary Cymbal Manufacturer the Avedis Zildjian Company has announced the introduction of a radically new HiHat Design innovation. Available in their famous A Zildjian range of cymbals, the new Mastersound HiHats are available in 13" and 14" pairs and feature an incredibly bright, crisp, clean and fast "chick" sound highly desired by many players.
To create these new cymbals, innovative hammering techniques were employed on the outer rim of the bottom HiHat cymbal, resulting in alternating raised and lowered contact points that facilitate rapid air release. This creates a noticeably faster and cleaner "chick" sound, without sacrificing body in the overall sound of the cymbals.
"We have been working on the design of the Mastersound HiHats for some time now," said John King, Zildjian's Product Specialist. "We wanted to create the ultimate all-around pair of HiHats on the market. Something that would allow a drummer to keep good time on the HiHat with a strong, clean and defined "chick" sound that would cut through and hold everything together," he continued.
"So far, from the response we have received from our top players I think we have more than achieved our goal! The new hammering technology that we now have is enabling us to create new designs that we only dreamed of in the past."
The new Mastersound HiHats are already being enthusiastically embraced by top Zildjian Cymbal Artists like Will Kennedy, drummer with the world famous jazz band the Yellowjackets. See the Zildjian website at http://www.zildjian.com. |
