Audix Announces ADX-50 Condenser Mic
July 26, 1999 The ADX-50 is a pre-polarized condenser microphone offering excellent
performance at an affordable price. Designed to handle a wide variety of
live, studio and broadcast applications, The ADX-50 is characterized with
a cardioid pickup pattern and a smooth uniform response over a frequency
range of 40-20k, the ADX-50 is precision machined from solid brass and has
a low reflective black e-coat finish. Operation requires phantom power of
48 to 52 volts.
Low noise electronic circuitry coupled with balanced output allows interference-free
performance even with long cable runs. The ADX-50 is road-worthy and capable
of reproducing high sound pressure levels of 132 dB.
According to Audix Vice President of Sales Cliff Castle, We have
had a market demand for a low cost professional instrument microphone
for quite some time now.
The ADX-50 is the first in a series of instrument condenser microphones
with exceptional performance at a great price.. It offers the home and
project studios the means to augment their microphone tool kit without
putting a strain on the budget and because of its rugged design,
it is equally effective as a live sound microphone for overheads, group
vocals, guitar, and other acoustic instruments. We anticipate a strong
demand for this product.
The ADX-50 is available from authorized Audix dealers at a suggested
retail price of $299 and includes a mic stand adapter. Optional accessories
include Windscreen (WS-ADX50) , shock-mount stand adapter (SM-ADX50),
and a 2-channel phantom power supply (APS-2).
