Sony Showcases New Equipment For The
Wireless Professional
July 26, 1999Sony Electronics will showcase new wireless series components: the WRT-808A
Plug-On Transmitter which converts any wired microphone to a wireless
microphone; and the WRR-805A Camera-Mount Receiver.
"These additions to Sony's wireless offerings demonstrate our ongoing
commitment to wireless technology at an affordable price for the independent
professional," said Paul Foschino marketing manager of professional
audio products for Sony Electronics' Broadcast and Professional Company.
WRT-808A Plug-On Transmitter
The affordable WRT-808A accepts any standard low Z mic (non-phantom)
or line level source and transforms it into a wireless mic. The unit has
10mW/50mW switchable RF output, four hours of battery life (with 2 "AA"
alkaline batteries), is light weight and features 94 channels UHF synthesized
tuning. The battery voltage is DC regulated to assume consistent performance
for the life of the battery.
The WRR-805A is a small and light weight camera mount receiver that is
targeted to the wedding and corporate videographer. It features a headphone
monitor, is mountable on every Sony camcorder and offers four hours of
operation (with two "AA" alkaline batteries).
The WRT-808A is available now at a suggested list price of $799. The
