July 23, 1999Yamaha Drums adds two new models to its complete line of high-quality
drum thrones, the DS-740 and the DS-840. The two new thrones join a roster
that provides high performance across the entire price spectrum, including
the DS-640, DS-940 and the top-of-the-line DS-1000, giving Yamaha a solid
offering for every drummer's needs.
All Yamaha drum thrones now meet the strict fire safety regulations in
all 50 states. The DS-840 is an especially attractive offering for those
who need the pro-level features of the DS-940 and DS-1000 at a more affordable

and secure set up, along with the same large aluminum die-cast mount found
on the DS-940 and DS-1000. In addition, the DS-840 has three double-braced
wide stance legs and large rubber feet.
The DS-740 offers a standard round seat with pipe-height adjustment,
three single-braced legs, rubber feet and an aluminum die-cast seat mount.
"Now Yamaha has the complete lineup of drum thrones, from the DS-640 to
the Hydraulic DS-1000," says Dave Jewell, Drum product manager. "We now
have a throne to meet any budget and the quality to meet any demand by
today's drummer." For more information,
