Digidesign exhibits the Focusrite line of analog
signal processors at Winter NAMM tradeshow. Among these are the Platinum,
Red and ISA Range processors. One of the products showcased will be the
newly released ISA 110 Vintage Reissue Microphone Preamplifier and Equalizer
Module in a special Limited Edition format.
The ISA 110 is the original Focusrite channel of uncompromised microphone pre-amplification
and EQ, which has been the choice of countless recording engineers and producers
since its introduction. However, this is the first time it has been made available
as a stand-alone, single channel unit.
Rupert Neve established the Focusrite brand in 1985 following the establishment
of Focusrite Ltd., his independent venture after retiring from the Neve Electronics
Company. The ISA 110 was designed to meet the continuing demand for the classic
type of module originally designed by Mr. Neve. Air Studios, London subsequently
used these for additional channels and superior equalization for their custom
Neve console in Studio 1. The ISA 110 subsequently became a staple Focusrite product,
sold in racks of 4 and 8 channels.
"There can be few designs which have been as enduring as the ISA 110
and derivatives of this classic. There must be literally hundreds if not
thousands of hit records that owe something to the sonic contribution
of the Focusrite ISA 110. We salute its designer and in celebration of
our first decade in business have reissued it in a new 1U, 19" rack
mount format with integral power supply", comments Phil Dudderidge,
founder of Focusrite Audio Engineering Ltd.
