PRESS RELEASE

Cross-Platform Version of OASYS PCI Premiered at NAMM

February 5, 2000

Korg is premiering a cross-platform version of their OASYS PCI, a computer card that was debuted in July of 1999 for the MAC. The OASYS PCI integrates synthesis, effects processing, and computer audio input and output into a single, PCI audio card that complements any MIDI sequencer or software-based digital audio workstation. It's onboard DSP power helps relieve the burden normally placed on the host CPU when using plug-ins and applications providing similar functionality.

The OASYS PCI's synthesizers represent a continual evolution from Korg's OASYS project. There are hundreds of sounds based on 28 algorithms, which are plug-ins loaded from disk (allowing for easy upgrades and expansion).

Also included are 135 effects algorithms. The majority of the effects from Korg's Trinity workstation are included - everything from standard reverbs to effects such as talking modulator. Additional new effects are included as well. These effects can process the onboard synthesizers, tracks from digital audio programs, and live audio inputs simultaneously.

The OASYS PCI supports all major audio and MIDI standards, for compatibility with virtually every audio and MIDI program.

The OASYS PCI MAC version is currently shipping, and the cross-platform version (MAC/PC) will ship in late Spring 2000. The list price is $2200.
