PRESS RELEASE

Line 6 Introduces the Flextone II Series of Digital Modeling Amplifiers

February 4, 2000

Three new amplifiers from Line 6, Flextone II, Flextone II Plus and Flextone II XL, deliver great tone in the studio or on stage. Each amp features 32 Amp Models, 16 Cabinet Models and 16 digital effect combinations that can be used as is, or mixed and matched to create custom sounds. Four programmable channels are standard — adding the optional Line 6 Floor Board expands this to 36 channels.

Each Flextone II model provides an unmatched collection of amp tones: harmonic-rich British distortion, big bold Class A spank, and sparkling American clean tones — plus Line 6 original tones, along with 16 Digital Effect combinations including Choruses, Flangers, Rotary Speaker, Delay, Reverb, Tremolo and Compressor.

The Flextone II is a basic combo amp — powerful enough for band rehearsals and live gigs and compact enough for small studios and home practice. The Flextone II Plus provides versatility with an on-board power amp to drive an optional satellite cab — and Line 6 provides 1x12, 2x12 or 4x12 slant and straight cab configurations to choose from. The Flextone II XL is the most powerful of the Flextone combos. With classic bluesbreaker style cabinet, it’s a 2x12 that delivers gorgeous stereo tone with 100 Watts of power.

Unique Dual Mode D.I.s give you great tone direct in the studio or on stage. Studio mode provides XLR Direct Outs with A.I.R — Line 6’s proprietary technique for simulating the complex interaction of microphones and speaker cabinets. Live mode provides awesome on-stage sound simultaneous with mike level stereo XLR outputs with ground lift and specially-voiced speaker simulation optimized to feed the house mixer or P.A.

Complete compatibility among all of the amps in the Flextone II Series, and pushbutton ToneTransfer to and from POD and POD Pro, allows sounds to be ported easily from rehearsal to studio to stage and new sounds to be acquired through the Line 6 ToneTransfer Web Library.
