Acuma Labs Announces New Plug-In for
the Mackie D8B.
February 10, 2000 Acuma Labs President
Chris Jubien stated "Our new Mackie D8B plug-in, dubbed "Delay
Factor," combines the sound of righteously funky old tape delays with
the newest digital delay technology and features.
Mackie software chief Bob Tudor commented on the new plug-in, stating
"The Delay Factor combines a full feature stereo multi-tap delay
with up to 16 taps, with the dynamic performance features of a traditional
tape delay. It takes advantage of the D8B automation and graphical user
interface to represent the Delay Field--an intuitive picture of each delay
tap in time (more than a second per side) and space (anywhere in the L/R
pan)." Editing the Delay Field is as easy as "drag and drop"
using the graphical interface. Any change can be captured by our automation
engine and played back perfectly.
Global parameters include: Quantization and Time Scaling, allowing users
to globally adjust delays and taps to beat intervals. Pitch and Speed
parameters, control the dynamic performance of the delay and are even
easier to use than the original Echoplex-style tape delays. Stereo input
level controls for the delay lines are included.
Per Delay Tap parameters include level and pan controls for both output
and regeneration from either delay line. High and low pass filters provide
unique sonic qualities for each delay tap and can be customized.
