Marshall Amplification announces the new AS100D Acoustic Combo Amplifier, a 2 X 8" combo with two polymer tweeters, which reproduces the sounds of Piezo or magnetic pick-up equipped acoustic instruments, as well as mic'd vocal applications. It utilizes 50w x 50w of stereo power for a total output of 100 watts, specifically designed for use with acoustic guitars. A special built-in limiter ensures optimum, distortion-free performance, even at high volume.

The AS100D features four independent channels: Acoustic Instrument 1, Acoustic Instrument 2, Microphone and Auxiliary inputs. In addition to the Bass, Treble and Volume controls, Channel 1 also features a parametric Mid control for dialing-in a specific frequency. To help prevent the feedback sometimes associated with amplifying acoustic instruments, the AS100D includes a unique anti-feedback circuit containing a Phase switch, and two frequency selectable Notch Filters that can lower the selected frequency by up to 10dB.

A built-in Stereo Digital Effects section with 16 patches is included in the AS100D. A Stereo Parallel Effects Loop for external FX is also included for greater versatility when adding effects. Both the internal digital effects and external effects loop can be turned on or off via the supplied dual footswitch. The sophisticated control over these effects chains allows for perfect internal and external effects mixing across the first three channels.

Two specially designed 8" speakers, plus a pair of high efficiency polymer tweeters, allow the AS100D to reproduce the subtle nuance of acoustic instruments. They are complemented by an internal limiter, which allows for maximum distortion-free output. Balanced Stereo DI XLR outputs are provided, along with Unbalanced Stereo Line Output jacks, to complete the AS100D's features. An optional tilt stand is also available.

The AS100D will be available April, 2000 and has a suggested list price of $1249.00.
