Sunn Amplifiers will offer the signature power and
tone of its professional guitar heads and cabinets in an all new format
this year, with the introduction of its T50C amplifier. Following the
critical success of its recently revived family of guitar and bass rigs,
Sunn will add this new guitar combo in an effort to more fully round out
the line.
Designed for musicians who want tone, versatility and sheer volume in
one single package, this new combo from Sunn offers them all. "The
Sunn T50C is built for power, and its built to travel," says
Fenders Product Manager of amplifiers, Richard McDonald. "Many
guitarists want the tone and volume of the Sunn Model T guitar rig, but
some simply prefer combos. Thats why we designed the T50C. Its
got a great vibe, its got monster volume, and its all right
there in one 70-pound combo amplifier."
The Sunn T50C is a 50 Watt, all tube design amplifier that features
one 12" Celestion G12 T75 speaker. There are two channels, Normal
and Drive, and a tube-driven effects loop with independent send and return
levels for each channel. The on-board Spring Reverb effect can be used
with both channels. Controls for each channel include treble, middle and
bass, while the Drive channel has the additional gain and presence controls.
If using the T50C to power an external cabinet, which is possible with
its external speaker-out line, the T50C can run at three different, manually
adjustable settings of either 16, 8, or 4 Ohms to best match the specifications
of the cabinet. There are also main amp-out and external amp-in lines
so that the T50C can functions as either a "host" or a "slave"
amplifier.
The T50C has a tuned, semi-sealed cabinet design. This allows the amplifier
to project like an open back cabinet would, while also giving off the
bass response of a sealed back cabinet.
Additional features of the T50C include a power tube failure indicator
and external bias adjustment points. A three-button footswitch for channel
select, effects and reverb is include. US MSRP is $1,699.99.
