Tascam Introduces CD-RW700 CD Recorder

TASCAM unveiled the CD-RW700 CD Recorder at NAMM . The CD-RW700, following in the footsteps of the CD-RW5000 professional CD recorder, is a cost-effective, rackmountable professional CD recorder, capable of replaying and recording both CD-R-DA and CD-RW-DA discs.

"The CD-RW700 features 24-bit A/D, D/A converters to deliver high-quality audio recording and playback," says Gene Joly, TASCAM general manager. "New TEAC CD-RW technology promises class-leading durability and reliability for the end-user who expects such high standards of any TASCAM product."

The 2U rackmountable CD-RW700 accepts CD-R-DA and CD-RW-DA discs, has a built-in sample converter, a digital input level control, RCA unbalanced analog inputs and outputs, and coaxial and Optical SPDIF digital inputs and outputs. It also features Fade In/Out, Auto Track Increment (-24, -30, -36, -42, -54, -60, -66 or -72dB selectable), Sync Start, Erase (CD-RW-DA only), Repeat, Random and Program Play. The CD-RW700 also has a clock function, headphone output and wireless remote control. The CD-RW700's dimensions are 18.84" W x 3.82" H x 12.17" D and weighs just 14 pounds.The CD-RW700's playback has a sampling frequency of 44.1kHz, a frequency response of 20-20kHz ± 0.5dB and a signal-to-noise ratio of better than 96dB. The total harmonic distortion is less than 0.004 percent (at 1kHz, full scale) with channel separation better than 90dB (at 1kHz, full scale).

The CD-RW700's recording performance allows for a frequency response of 20-20kHz ± 1.0dB and a signal-to-noise ratio of better than 92dB. The total harmonic distortion is less than 0.005 percent (at 1kHz, full scale) with channel separation better than 80dB (at 1kHz, full scale).
