presents ProControl for Pro ToolsHardware Control Surface for the Pro Tools® III TDM Environment January
18, 1996NAMM provided the backdrop for the premiere of Digidesign's ProControl, the latest
in a series of products designed to integrate the entire digital audio production
process for the desktop. ProControl is an affordable, comprehensive modular control
surface that adds a high-quality tactile mixing surface and dedicated editing
controls to Pro Tools III systems. Integrated control of Pro Tools mixing, Plug-In
parameters and dedicated edit buttons allows ProControl to be used as the exclusive
mix controller in a professional music or post-production studio.

represents Digidesign's ongoing effort and commitment to fully integrate the entire
digital audio production process", said Peter Gotcher, Digidesign's president.
"Recording, editing and mixing with ProControl will change the industry's concept
of what to expect when working with DAWs. The addition of ProControl to our suite
of products offers users the power and flexibility they need for recording and
manipulating the entire audio production process." ProControl interacts with
Pro Tools software via patented, motorized moving faders, a touch screen, LCDs,
and dedicated edit controls - including Control Room/Cue mix monitoring and Talkback.
Track names, fader levels, pan positions and Plug-In parameters are displayed
on LCD "scribble strips" and can be manipulated via the LED-ringed shaft-encoders.
