Fender SPA Power Amplifiers January 18, 1996
Fender Pro Audio is introducing its SPA Series, advanced high-efficiency, multi-rail, dual channel, professional power amplifiers. These power amps are the first in the Fender line to feature a D-sub accessory port option for computer remote control and monitoring.
The port provides an audio insert loop, and also senses temperature, load status, operating mode, and amplifier clipping. The power amps also provide XLR, 1/4", and barrier strip inputs; Speakon, 1/4", and binding posts outputs.
The SPA series consists of the following:
SPA-3000, 150 watts RMS per channel at 4 ohms; 300 watts at 8 ohms in bridged mono mode, < 0.1% T.H.D., built in a single rack space chassis.
SPA-7500, 375 watts RMS per channel at 4 ohms; 750 watts at 8 ohms in bridged mono mode, < 0.1% T.H.D., built in a single rack space chassis.
SPA-13000, 650 watts RMS per channel at 4 ohms; 1300 watts at 8 ohms in bridged mono mode, < 0.1% T.H.D., built in a two rack space chassis.
SPA-24000, 1200 watts RMS per channel at 4 ohms; 2400 watts at 8 ohms in bridged mono mode, < 0.1% T.H.D., built in a three rack space chassis.
"The SPA Series are robust, reliable power amps for audio professionals and contractors who want to integrate their computer to monitor operating status and to add advanced signal processing capabilities to their performance systems," says Michael Schwartz, marketing manager of Fender Pro Audio. "In addition, SPA power amps are well-suited for project studio applications due to their open, transparent sound."
The SPA series also features dual cooling fans, computer controlled protection, a ground lift barrier strip, and a built-in power turn on sequencer in both of the larger models. Suggested retail prices for the SPA series are to be announced. For more information, visit their web site at www.fender.com. |
