Fender Roc Pro Amps

January 18, 1996

Borrowing on 50 years of guitar amp know-how from their industry leading Standard Series and Professional Tube Amplifiers, Fender has created the new Roc Pro amps which offer modern players the features and tone they want without the sticker shock associated with all-tube designs.

Featuring two footswitchable channels, Normal and Tube Drive, each with its own set of independent tone controls, Roc Pro amplifiers have a real 12AX7/ECC83 preamp tube to provide the rich distortion overtones and massive musical gain only a tube can. And, voiced for a multitude of alternative rock and hard rock tones, these amps look as tough as they sound-Black Tolex cabinets, brushed front panels and black perforated metal grilles with cast '62 style Fender logo.

Fender Roc Pro amps start with the Roc Pro 700 combo ($519.99 retail), offering 70 watts, 1x12" Fender Special Design speaker, 2-button footswitch (included) and variable EFX loop. Moving up, other models include the Roc Pro 1000 1x12" combo and Roc Pro 1000 Head, offering 100 watts, Fender Special Design speaker (combo model), 3-button footswitch (included), two remote switchable Tube Drive levels, line out jack and parallel variable EFX loop with mix control. All Roc Pro amps feature Fender's benchmark reverb.

Also available are th Roc Pro GE112, 1x12" and GE412, 4x12" speaker enclosures. Featuring the same cosmetics as the amplifiers and loaded with Fender Special Design speakers, they are the perfect mates for the Roc Pro 1000 combo and head.

Fender amplifier Marketing Manager Ritchie Fliegler states, "Everyone knows that Fender amps are the only serious choice for country, blues and many rock players. With the addition of the Roc Pro line, we're gonna blow the socks off the younger more aggressive players that may not have thought of Fender in the past."
