Pandora Guitar Multi-Effects Processor
January 18, 1996
ToneWorks introduces its smallest guitar multi-effects processor: Pandora, weighing in at 6.3 ounces. Pandora's "fit in the palm of your hand" size, contrasts with the fact that it comes complete with 20 fully-editable, multi-effects programs and 60 effect variations.
Pandora's list of effects includes guitarist "must haves" like compression, distortion, overdrive, chorus, reverb and delay as well as more exotic effects like pitch shift and stereo pitch shift, wah, random step filter, etc.
"When creating Pandora, one of the ToneWorks design team's goals was to make guitar direct recording as hassle-free as possible. As such, a selection of the units's effects have been optimized for this application," stated Randall Whitney, ToneWorks product manager. Pandora also includes a new Cabinet Resonator feature that recreates the sound of a guitar amp's speaker cabinet.
Pandora was designed with the needs of the practicing guitarist in mind and is equipped with a headphone out and circuitry that maximizes battery life. Pandora can perform for up to eight hours on two AA batteries and can be connected to a CD or cassette player enabling a guitarist to practice in private with their favorite band. The unit also includes a built-in metronome and auto-chromatic tuner.
Pandora borrows its Integrated Parameter Editing system, (designated IPE), from other ToneWorks products like the G3 and AX30G. IPE permits effortless real-time editing control. For more information, visit their web site at www.korg.com. |
