Roland KC-500 Keyboard Amplifier

January 18, 1996

Roland's latest addition to their amplifier line, the KC-500 Keyboard Amplifier, is ready to meet the needs of today's serious keyboardist head-on. This moderately sized and surprisingly affordable powerhouse offers a full complement of the features musicians crave. Keyboards require amplifiers with more than just high output; they rely on very high fidelity sound to maintain all the nuances, textures, layers and dynamics of complex digital signals.

The KC-500 offers a substantial 150 watts of output power and a superb two-way speaker configuration featuring one 15" speaker and one high output horn driver. This combination assures superb reproduction of virtually any digital source. Flexibility is also a key factor in the new KC-500 and with a built-in four-channel stereo input/output mixer, the options are vast. Increasing the flexibility of four independent stereo inputs, the amp offers two stereo line outs: one with XLR connectors and the other with 1/4" phone jacks. There is even a special Stereo Link In/Out through which two KC-500s can be connected and controlled by one unit, for fully separated stereo sound.

Adding further functionality to the KC-500's mixer section, channel four has an assignable output. Choose from Line Out, Speaker Out or Headphone Out. This useful options enables the player to monitor a click track via the KC-500's speakers or headphones, without sending the click to the PA through the Line Out.

For larger keyboard rigs, the four stereo inputs can be used as eight mono inputs. In addition to the channel inputs and individual volume controls, global control is accessed using the master volume, master tone (hi, mid, low), line out level and phone volume.

This compact amp features a practical chassis design and top mounted controls, thus preventing input cables from interfering with the controls. The KC-500 was designed by Roland's U.S. facility Roland Audio Development (RAD) and the amps are assembled right here in the U.S.A. When all is said and done, who better to make a fantastic keyboard amp, than Roland.
