Pacifica 604W January 18, 1996
Building on the success of the popular Pacifica 904 and 604, Yamaha Corporation of America unveils a high-performance electric guitar with the premiere of the Pacifica 604W at the NAMM Show.
This classy looking double-cutaway guitar combines a solid alder body, 22-fret bolt-on maple neck with Rosewood fingerboard, Sperzel® locking tuners and the acclaimed Wilkinson® VS-100 tremolo. This combination of quality woods and craftsmanship, in conjunction with top-of-the-line hardware, delivers a punch that can't be touched in its price class.
"Yamaha Pacifica Guitars combine fundamental design elements with innovative features, and the Pacifica 604W has got it all," said Jerry Andreas, marketing manager, Guitar Products, Yamaha Corporation of America. "Classy looks, incredible sound and an unparalleled feel make the Pacifica 604W a real champion."
The Yamaha Pacifica 604W features Alnico V pickups in a two singles and double single-coil configuration, but that is only the beginning. The double single-coil pair can be manipulated via a push pot tone knob to "scream" like a humbucker and split for a classic overdriven single-coil sound. This unique hybrid pick-up configuration along with a five-way position switch gives players more options than offered in either an all single-coil or all humbucking set-up.
The Pacifica 604W is outfitted with Satin Chrome hardware, pearloid pickguard and is available in three finishes: Cherry Sunburst, Black and Translucent Blue. For more information, visit their web site at www.yamaha.com. |
