DW Series Acoustic Guitars January 18, 1996
Yamaha Corporation of America is showcasing its new DW Series acoustic guitars at the NAMM Show. This new line of dreadnought style guitars is available in popular configurations to suit any style and level of play.
"The Yamaha DW Series guitars have the traditional shape of a dreadnought which structurally provides greater dynamic range," explains Jerry Andreas, marketing manager, Guitar Products, Yamaha Corporation of America. "Incorporating high-quality materials, gloss finishes and gold tuners, the DW Series is well suited to meet the needs of today's players."
The DW4S has a solid spruce top, mahogany back and sides and gold die-cast tuners. This guitar comes in natural, marine blue or violin sunburst gloss finishes and has binding on the body, neck and headstock. In addition, the DW4S is available in a 12-string version (DW4S-12) and cutaway version with pick-up and the Yamaha APX pre-amp and 3-band EQ (DW4SC).
The Yamaha DW5S is a step up from the DW4S, offering a natural gloss finish, Indian Rosewood back and sides and a more elaborate inlay.
Rounding out the line is the Yamaha DW103E which has a unique open pore finish allowing for greater resonance. This satin finish dreadnought includes an internal pickup and the APX external pre-amp and 3-band EQ. The external pre-amp allows for amplified sound without sacrificing the original tone and beauty of the guitar.
All the DW Series Guitars come with solid spruce tops, as well as the Yamaha Limited Lifetime Guarantee. For more information, visit their web site at www.yamaha.com. |
