Peavey Cirrus Basses January 16, 1997
Peavey Electronics Corporation announces the introduction of the Cirrus range of
basses, the Cirrus ' 4, Cirrus 5 and Cirrus(TM) 6. The combination of beautiful, select hardwoods,
neck-through construction and state-of-the-art electronics give the Cirrus the look and feel of
hand-made instruments.
Available in four-, five- and six-string versions, all of the Cirrus basses are 35" scale instruments to
increase the tension on the B string of the five- and six-string models and to give a totally new feel
to the four-string version. The heart of the Cirrus line is the center neck section. Made of walnut
with maple stringers or maple with purpleheart stringers, the neck-through construction is not only
visually appealing, but also adds to the tonality of the instrument by integrating the neck, bridge
and pickups into the same piece of wood.
The body features an alder back chosen for its resonant quality and a hand-selected,
book-matched top of either walnut, wenge or cocobolo. The Cirrus 6 is also offered with a redwood
top, which adds unique warmth to the tone of the bass while decreasing the weight often
associated with this type of instrument.
Features:
- 35" scale neck-through construction
- 24-fret pau ferro fingerboard
- Alder body with choice of hardwood top
- Improved Peavey VFL active pickups
- Master volume, balance, 3-way active tone-shaping
- Hand-rubbed, satin, oil finishes
