DOD Kicks Off New Performer Amplifier Series with G112
January 29, 1998
DOD is launching its new Performer Amplifier Series at NAMM '98 with the introduction of the G112.
Despite its diminutive size, the G112 is a true powerhouse cranking out 60 real watts of pure MOSFET power. Perfect for practice or small gigs, this screaming wattage drives a custom-designed Eminence 12-inch speaker to its limits. The amplifier's gain has additionally been shifted back to the amp's front end, rather than residing in the power amplifier stage, making the G112 extremely quiet when the guitarist isn't playing.
The amp's two-channel preamp section is loaded with professional features like the FX69 Grunge(TM) distortion, chorus, spring reverb and three-band EQ on three passive tone controls. The G112 offers two independent inputs (high and low), as well as connectors for footswitch, headphone/line out and DOD's Jam-a-long(TM) Jack. An external speaker jack also enables the G112 to be used with DOD's optional S112 extension cabinet or rockin' Stereo S4X12 for those times when too much is not enough.
DOD's pre-existing G6 (Grunge), G6R (Grunge with Reverb) and B15 (Bass IT) amps have also repackaged with the G112's black tolex exterior, gray grille cloth and clean design to now join the Performer Amplifier Series. Over the next few months, the manufacturer will continue to add to the line with a number of other amps for the acoustic, electric and bass guitar.
Suggested U.S. retail prices on the Performer Amplifier Series (so far) are as follows:
- G112 $399.95
- G6 $119.95
- G6R $149.95
- B15 $179.95
